Scholarship Program

Scholarship application deadline has ended for this Fall 2011 semester. Please send in your applications for the following Spring 2012 semester. The deadline is January 1st 2012.

The Lebanese American Association is proud to announce that they have awarded four scholarships to students of Lebanese decent attending universities in the United States. The Educational Program is a top priority of the LAA, and the organizations future goal is to expand their contribution to include more scholarship awards. The LAA wishes to thank all of the members for their continued support. Their financial contributions make this program possible.

Who is eligible to apply?

  1. Any student who is applying to or is currently enrolled in a higher education institution including college, university, professional and/or vocational schools at the undergraduate level.
  2. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
  3. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. of Lebanese origin or an international student from Lebanon.
    (Preference will be given to students from Northern California.)

What documents are needed?
  1. Transcript of grades of the last two years of education.
  2. Filled-out Application. Check with the office for deadline for different school sessions.
  3. Copies of both parents income taxes from prior year, if claimed dependent by parents, or personal income tax return, if independent. Lebanese students with parents residing abroad must submit a copy of their financial aid application.
  4. Copy of acceptance letter from school or if pending any documentation related to the application(proof of enrollment should be submitted to the LAA no later than the first week of enrollment), or a copy of current enrollment.
  5. Essay of 500 words or less about your educational goals, background and any other relevant information you would like to share with the scholarship committee.
  6. A list of two former or current teachers who can comment on your education. Please provide their addresses, phone numbers and positions.
